Our National Champs: Íæż½ã½ãCheer takes top NCA honors
The team reclaimed the trophy after winning the national championship in ’16, ’17 and ’18. In 2021, Íæż½ã½ãcheer was Gameday D1A national champion.
Dallas () – The Íæż½ã½ãcheer team placed first at the NCA Collegiate National Championship in Daytona, Florida. The 32-member team first qualified to compete nationally at the summer 2023 NCA varsity camp. On April 11 through 13 they beat 15 teams for the championship in the Intermediate Small Coed Division 1A.
The team reclaimed the trophy after winning the national championship in ’16, ’17 and ’18. In 2021, Íæż½ã½ãcheer was Gameday D1A national champion.
Íæż½ã½ãcheer supports Mustang football, men and women’s basketball and women’s volleyball. The team also represents Íæż½ã½ãat numerous community events.
The National Cheerleading Association has its roots at SMU, founded in 1948 by former Íæż½ã½ãcheerleader and creator of the “Herkie” jump, Lawrence Herkimer.
