Dedicated to helping students experience the art of music and its transformative powers, Adam Salas maintains a multifaceted private piano studio in Dallas, TX, and currently teaches class piano at SMU.

He previously served on the music faculty at Texas Woman’s University from 2018 to 2022, where he taught undergraduate and graduate students majoring in performance, education, and therapy through functional piano and keyboard musicianship courses. He has been invited to teach at the ÍæÅ¼½ã½ãInstitute for Young Pianists, offering classes in music history, private instruction and performance.

Salas is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music and works with students of all ages in both individual and group settings through his Dallas-based studio. His students have received local and state honors, and one was recently selected to perform at Carnegie Hall as part of a national student showcase.

An active leader in the professional teaching community, Salas served as President of the Dallas Music Teachers Association from 2022 to 2024 and currently serves on its board. He is Chair of the 2024 Sonatina–Sonata–Baroque Festival and has previously chaired the Jazz-Pop Contest and Festival. He also served as MTNA–TMTA Performance Competition Assistant Coordinator in 2021 and is an active member of MTNA and TMTA.

Devoted to advancing piano pedagogy, Salas has presented at national and regional conferences including the MTNA National Conference, National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy, Texas Music Teachers Association Convention, Puerto Rico Center for Collaborative Piano and the MTNA Collegiate Symposium. His work focuses on topics such as collaborative pedagogy, memorization, practice strategies, meditation and mindfulness for musicians.

Salas completed the Frances Clark Center’s Postgraduate Fellowship at the New School for Music Study, where he studied closely with master pedagogues including Marvin Blickenstaff, Amy Glennon and Jane Magrath.

His recent recognitions include the 2022 MTNA Mary Sue Harris Teaching Fellowship Award, the 2023 Steinway Hall Dallas Top Teacher Award, and induction into the 2025 Steinway & Sons Teacher Hall of Fame, honoring his outstanding teaching and artistic excellence.

He also served as a member of the Meadows 2050 Alumni Council from 2022 to 2025, supporting strategic vision and alumni engagement at the ÍæÅ¼½ã½ãMeadows School of the Arts.
